Location:
FASX is located 5 nm South-East of the town of Swellendam, Western Cape, South Africa.
Elevation: 407 FT AMSL
Coordinates: 34˚03"00'S, 20˚29"00'E
Radio Call:
Alert FASX and other aircraft on 124.8 MHz - Normally there is no ATC on duty.
For the Fly-in and Aerobatics Competition on 3 and 4 March 2018 - ATC on duty on 124.8 MHz.
Standard joining procedures:
Join over-head at 2000' AGL (2500' AMSL) on last known QNH.
Visibility:
Switch on all lights to attract attention and lookout for other traffic.
Runways:
Primary runway at 15 and 33: 1003 m x 12 m asphalt, LCN 5. Runway lights in use, controlled by automatic day-night switch.
Secondary runway at 06 and 24: 600 m grass. No runway lights.
Circuit and parking:
A left-hand circuit is in use on all runways. Parking is North of the hangars.
Low-flying:
FASX is situated next the Bontebok National Park. Please avoid unnecessary low-flying on the park-side, South of the airfield, as far as possible as a courtesy to the park, its visitors and animals.
